To ensure LANDesk® Process Manager function properly, please make sure you have the necessary resources on your system. Before installation on a server or workstation, check to see that your hardware and software meet or exceed the following system requirements.
Note: Running LANDesk® Process Manager with server components installed on XP or any desktop OS with Internet Information Services (IIS) is only supported for a testing or development environment. You are limited to 10 connections both on the engine and IIS. This setup will not work for your production environment.
The installation procedure automatically checks your system for the required components, reports on any missing components, and where practical, provides a link where you can download missing components.
You can choose to download several of the required components before running the installation.
Core Server Requirements
To ensure maximum performance, the LANDesk® Process Manager server should run on a dedicated, standalone server, not as a primary domain controller (PDC), backup domain controller (BDC) or Active Directory controller. The server should have at least the following hardware and software requirements before installing LANDesk Process Manager on the machine.

Process Designer Requirements
To successfully install the process designer, the workstation should have the following hardware and software requirements.

- 180 MB of free disk space

- XP Professional with SP 1 or later, Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition; Windows 2000 Professional, Server, and Advanced Server with SP 4; Windows Vista Enterprise/Business Editions.

Integration with LANDesk® Actions
In order to use LANDesk® actions in LANDesk® Process Manager, install the LANDesk® Message-Based SDK (SP3 Runtime version only) on your LANDesk® Management Suite core server. You also need to have created connections to any LANDesk® cores using LANDesk® Process Manager's database utility. See the help file within the solution for full details.
